In Concert. Documentary (2010). Surkalén is composed of three Chileans from Valparaíso and a Russian-Canadian violinist. The word Surkalén consists of the words Sur, for the South American origin and Kalén, which means different in the Selknam language (former inhabitants of Tierra del Fuego). Therefore honoring disappeared people. Most of the group’s creations are strongly influenced by South American rhythms and music of the world. Surkalén’s music is different and unique!
